The console for Stages Indoor Cycling is designed to be user friendly, simple, and provide large, easy to read numbers to help guide you in your workout. The console is activated by pressing the STAGE button and pedaling the bike. It defaults into warm up mode, which is where you will pair your HR strap and make adjustments to the bike fit in preparation to start your workout or class.
The console also features a USB port on the front to be utilized to record your ride data. A USB drive must be inserted in start up mode in order to record your ride data from the console. Without the USB stick, ride results will still be listed in the summary at the end of the ride, but the full details will not be retained.
To begin your workout and end warm up mode, simply press the STAGE button at the center of the console. The STAGE button also serves as a lap button to reset the averages with each workout interval. Use this button throughout your workout to break apart each effort and recovery period. At any point during the ride, hit the AVG/END button to see current averages on the screen. Once your workout is complete, hold down AVG/END to see the results page for your workout. At this point it is safe to remove your USB drive if you are recording your ride from the console. A USB drive is not, however, required to utilize the console.
1. START UP
When the console is in sleep mode, press any button to activate start up mode. USB will flash at the top of the screen, reminding you to insert a USB drive if you would like to save your ride data from the console. Start up mode will change to warm up mode after 10 seconds of pedaling or immediately if you pedal above 60rpms.
2. WARM UP
Use this mode to pair a HR strap and make fit adjustments to the bike before beginning your class or workout.
Use this mode for your ride. For a workout with multiple sections, such as intervals of high intensity and rest, use the STAGE button as a "Lap" button. The console is able to divide up your ride into Stages 1-99. At the end of each STAGE, the Stage averages will be displayed for 5 seconds.

To view the RIDE mode at any time during any stage, press the AVG/END button while in STAGE mode. The word RIDE will appear in the message banner.When the RIDE mode is selected, the console will show data for the entire ride so far.To exit the RIDE mode and view the current STAGE mode, press the AVG/END button. The console will also exit the RIDE mode automatically after 6 seconds.
Once you've completed your ride, hold the AVG/END button for 3 seconds to end the ride and view a results summary.
1. Message Banner Displays text messages indicating the current mode or menu option.
Examples: WARM UP, STAGE #, RIDE, RESULTS, RIDE.
2. AVG column: Displays the average values for the current stage or the entire ride.
3. MAX column: In the RESULTS mode and the RIDE mode, displays the maximum values.
4. WATTS: Displays power output in watts—instantaneous, average, and maximum.
5. RPM: Displays pedaling cadence in revolutions per minute (RPM)—instantaneous, average, and maximum.
6. SPEED: Displays calculated speed in miles per hour (MPH) or kilometers per hour (KMH)—instantaneous, average, and maximum.
7. Heart Rate: If the user wears a compatible heart rate monitor (not included), displays the (heart symbol)* heart rate—instantaneous, average, and maximum.
*Heart rate symbol flashes when connected to monitor.
8. KCAL**: Displays the instantaneous kilocalories per hour (KCAL/HR)
**This display is only active when a heart rate monitor is NOT connected. If the KCAL toggle is set to “ON”, KCAL and heart rate will toggle every 5 seconds.
9. KCAL/HR** Displays the average kilocalories per hour.
10. TIME: Displays the elapsed time for the stage.
11. RIDE TIME: Displays the elapsed time for the entire ride.
12. DIST: Displays the distance traveled in miles (MI) or kilometers (KM) for the stage.
13. RIDE DIST: Displays the distance traveled in miles (MI) or kilometers (KM) for the entire ride. KCAL Displays the cumulative kilocalories (KCAL) value during the ride.
